Worth a watch for those with Lithium.

Yes Lenny, I picked that one up on YouTube just after having ours installed, and am pleased to say he confirmed my initial thoughts on best care. (y)

I did watch a couple of his other videos pre installation, where he strips down different batteries to reveal some shocking looking assemblies. :whatthe:

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Some interesting numbers in his work, But from my perspective my latest usage thoughts tie up almost to his advice. I am no longer worried about charging to 100% on a daily use with solar charge but use 60% Storage and 90% resting.
in a second video he quotes degradation 4%@120F (49C ambient Las Vagas really that hot? or was it just his storage environment)@100%SOC . This is approx 84%@5yrs 69%@10yrs 46%@20yrs, this is probably much worse than the UK because of higher ambient. has anyone actually done annual capacity measurements to confirm or deny a UK figure. He also quoted a self discharge rate of 3% (per week, month?) i cant find it again.

it's mentioned at 1:55 3% per month or 1% per month if cold

He said 3% that does seem a bit high but probably due to temperature.

Generally he is spot on the only thing I would disagree with was when he ran test on MPPT & and PWM solar regulators and he couldn't find much difference in performance but that is probably due to living in Las Vagus

I’ve subscribed to him for quite some time now and he’s the only one that can talk about electrics that I can understand…😆😎
