Worst experience on camp site ?

We stayed there, we were between 3 static caravans, went to pay on leaving in the morning and nearly fainted after being told how much they wanted.

Trick is to use their swimming pool, sauna and steam room as much as possible to get full value, only leaving site to walk the short distance to the local bars so you can stagger back the slightly longer distance when full of ale.

It was absolute hell last year at Highlands End. Huge site, loads of empty pitches but the neighbour from hell pitched up next door in another Le Voyageur........ I had to put up with drinking shunter's booze the whole weekend :whistle2::rofl:

You make it sound like there was only me and Big Martin, there were actually 4 of us remember with only space for 1 tent/bike.

So are you saying that the 'family tent' took up his pitch and 3 of the 4 pitches you booked?

Please confirm you did actually book 4 pitches, because I am starting to wonder whether it might have been less than 4 and that is the knub of the problem and the site manager's attitude.

We shall await your confirmation.

How do I confirm that ? The family tent took up 3 spaces because he was using our space, not his own, bit like a double booking.

Just one more thing Busy builder,
The Fisherman disappeared! were you with Big Martin at all times?
Was Martin hungry?😀

Sooooo, why do they call him big Martin?
That made me laugh. I remember being at my little little brothers wedding when one of his mates came over (he had no idea I was the brother), lent on my shoulder and said "I'm tall Paul" (He was huge, must have been at least 6 9). I looked at him and said with a dead pan face "why are you called that" poor bloke visibly shrunk as his mates laughed. Was a good bloke and a cracking night.

One of the nicest blokes I knew was a gentleman of colour about the same size as big martin, a lovely gentle giant.
Was having a bit of trouble with some neighbours and he had come to visit. No problems while he was there, my tormenters asked who he was, 'just one of my Manchester friends' all the trouble ended. Was amusing because my mate had no idea there were problems.
Have a nice photo somewhere of me with him and his brothers at a wedding, i look like I am sitting down between them 😂
don't condone the behaviour but I would have been very frustrated and angry In similar circumstances.

Worse night we had was on a site in North Cornwall one August BH, we'd been going there for a few years and made some good friends. Two women turned up with 5 kids and put up one small tent. The 5 kids slept in the tent, and the two women reclined the car seats and slept in there. They were still playing music on the car stereo at half one in the morning with the windows open. My missus got dressed and asked them to turn the music off "Why, it isn't loud" was the reply, they said they'd turn it down, but didnt. Val went back again and they switched it off, but for the rest of the night, every time the one in the driver's seat moved, her feet slipped off the dash and sounded the car's horn.
Next morning, I was in the site shop and asked if anyone else has complained about the noise, they said they'd had a lot of complaints, but didn't know who had been making the racket. Once I'd grassed them up, the owner and his assistant went over and told them to pack up and leave. The torrent of abuse they unleashed would have made a docker blush and they accused the site owner of being homophobic and they would plaster the site's details on every LGBT website they knew and would ruin him ! The owner and his pal just stood over them until they packed up and left.

I wS at a biker rally, about 6000 people attended it. and first night 2 women stayed up all night talking. As we were on two large fields in the countryside their voices carried. Their tent was about 12 feet away from mine. Once or twice during the night there'd be a cry out for them to shut up and go to sleep.
When most were getting up about 8am these 2 women decided they'd ho to bed. Unfortunately for them there were lots of Harleys on the rally one chap came around asking were these 2 women were camping, when he found their tent a couple of Harleys with open pipes arrived ticking over next to their tent. It was quiet on the following 2 nights.

My Grandfather was 6 4” and known locally as Davey Dwt 🤣

That’s not nice and completely unnecessary within this already negative thread. Please delete that comment .
I agree.
