Just spend an enjoyable few days a Salisbury CCC site where the night time temperatures hung around zero. I normally like a little ventilation and crack a few windows, however, I decided to set the overnight temp to 12 to keep the chill off (timer set to 20 for the morning), must be getting old, as a result I left the windows closed on the assumption that I would simply be trying to warm the world up to 12 as all the warmer air would escape. This left me wondering what others do about over night ventilation in the winter.

In through the nose, out through the bum, internally warming the air to the correct body temp. Aids getting the warmth into all those tight niggly areas above the cupboards as it’s slightly fragranced and being more gaseous, tis lighter than air.

Also helps bonding with the family, especially the dog 🐶

I do nothing about overnight ventilation (whether we are in it or not). Keep everything closed and cosy warm,

But go for a drive quite frequently with heater on to change the air.

Warm air holds moisture and thus creates condensation cold air does not. No reason to heat an unused MH. Ventilation is key. Don’t mistake coldness with dampness.

We experiment with different window openings to just stop condensation on the windscreen, which is where it starts first. Then dial the little fan heater up to keep us at whatever temperature we think we want that night. If it’s really cold, the electric blanket ensures a good night’s sleep. The dogs both have thick fur.
