How do you find the wear rates if you use them through Spanish summers?Yes .I did on the coachbuilt & am changing on the pvc to all winter
Yes and yesDoes anyone run winter tyres all year round and do they find them to be okay in summer weather?
Yes did on our last van without issue.Does anyone run winter tyres all year round and do they find them to be okay in summer weather?
Lol if I knew that I wouldn’t be askingYou’ll end up with a slightly different rolling radius with the 225 tyres, as long as you’re aware? Do they fit your arches okay?
I have 225 70 15 Toyos on my boxer based van instead of the original 215 width as part of my weight upgrade visually they are almost identical. Practically, the width has made no difference except the speedometer now reads roughly true instead of a couple of mph under
I fitted four Toyo Observe winter tyres. How do you find the wear rates if you use them through Spanish summers?
I’ve found with RWD vehicles that the fronts and rears wear at a similar rate, the load being split between the steering wheels and the driven wheels, so maybe 40k miles each.I fitted four Toyo Observe winter tyres.
Very pleased with the ride, comfort and the grip.
After 15k the fronts needed replacing but there's still 6.5 to 7 mm on the rears.
I was surprised there was such a difference, I know the driven wheels wear faster but the rate surprised me.
I couldn't get observe of correct size to replace them so went for the Nanoenergy instead.
Although they do wear quicker on the front, they are much cheaper than camper tyres.
So overall, happy with them
It varies quite a lot depending on the tyres.I’ve found with RWD vehicles that the fronts and rears wear at a similar rate, the load being split between the steering wheels and the driven wheels, so maybe 40k miles each.
But with FWD vehicles, the fronts take a hammering, with maybe 20k on fronts and 60k on rears.
Over 80k you probably still buy the same number of tyres.
I had briefly had 225s on the front of our old Hymer, instead of the usual 215s. On a tight left or right lock, the edging tread did catch the wheel arch liners, but only occasionally.Ok been on the tinterweb, Toyo observe it is BUT….. camskill only have them in 225/70/15C instead of 215/70/15c at £87 a corner!?
