Hi

We're planning a trip to Sicily in January and February 2025 and would like to spend a month in one location.
Can anyone recommend a stopover with facilities and located within an easy (level) walk or short bus ride to a village/town that has rail/bus links?
Thanks :)

Well the only campsite that I went to in Sicily was Scarebao camping very nice site right on the beach 🏝️ and nice staff, and went there for 4 years on the trot.
Small shop nearby but about 3 miles from nearest town for major shopping but no buses 🚌 but used to use mh to go shopping as all supermarkets Had big car parks so parking not a problem with mh. Located at punta Braccetto
I used to go for 6 months at a time oct to march site had own hire car you can rent to go shopping or visiting

Camping La Playa at Isola delle Femmine is a short train ride to Palermo, and is very quiet amongst the olive trees.

If you wany to be on the other side of the island, we stayed at Camping Jonio, right beside the sea in Catania.

Plenty of buses and trains to get you to Syracuse (where Archimedes lived), Mount Etna, and Taormina (wonderful hilltop town with Roman amphitheatre)

If you love history, don't forget to go to the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento!

Good luck!

What bridge would that be then? Nothing on any map I've seen.
Looks like a short ferry crossing though.
Interested because getting fed up of the crowding in Iberia.
