Fairly new to motorhome started early 2019
I have had a thread going on my wiper problems and without the exact wiring might struggle to sort it, this is where I am now on a 2007 B514SL Gold Edition (Ducato 3 Litre diesel) .

If I push the stalk up the wipers will work OK but if I do anything else they won't ?

I have just got my SHAUDT WSF 01 relay unit back from Applejack Electronics who tell me no fault found, so I am not sure where the fault can be now.
I can't think the motor is responsible and I can't quite see how the stalk is faulty and the relay unit is meant to be OK.
Does anyone have the circuit diagram for this or does anyone have any thoughts on what could be responsible for this noting what I have said.
I can also add that I have checked the continuity of each of the wires from the relay unit to the motor.

Many thanks
ALAN

Oh, I’ve just posted something very similar so I’ll watch this thread as well.

I have the Fiat handbook electric drawings .. will upload in the resources

It's in Spanish .. windscreen wiper is

On the Fiat Ducato then how to you get access I undid the 2 bolts underneath the steering wheel but couldn't see anything else but couldn't prize the plastic cover off. Have I missed another screw/bolt somewhere ?

Many thanks for taking the trouble and am looking at the diagrams now, so it looks as the motor part is simply Live & Neutral HOO5 is the stalk and NO15 is a relay unit which the WSF01 must be similar. So it doesn't rule out the stalk and now I just need to find out to get at it. Many thanks

Not quite sure if you are describing the problem the same as here but have a look at my take on what’s happening

If 5he switch works 9ne way but not others it's 99%certain to be the switch contacts.

The intermittent wipe was originally done by starting off the motor with a pulse from the timer, once they got a little way the pulse ended and the wipers self homed.. until the next pulse.
So if yours are also not self parking then the problem may well be the rotary contact and that used to be under the wiper gearbox cover.
Hope this helps
Mike

Normally I would opt for the stalk first as cheap and relatively easy to swop.
Do you know how to get access to the stalk in other words open up the surround underneath the steering wheel on a Ducati

First do they have wipers on a Ducati.
I will contact my mate tomorrow who has broken plenty of Ducato vans I personally have never stripped one.

No and neither on my lovely Triumph Bonneville must be typo - be great to find out how to expose the stalk so I can check contacts so many thanks for trying, Cheers

Roy says the 4 screws two at the top and two at the bottom lift the steering wheel up to the top and you should see them.

Many thanks I will have a look at this tomorrow morning. If you followed my other thread on this my wipers are not working and I have checked everything and even had my Schaudt WSF 01 relay unit checked with no fault found (£70 for that test) the motor works when I put 12 volts on it from my leisure battery direct so now I am thinking can only be the stalk, I would also add that pushing the stalk up for the wiper to flick on once does work. So any ideas welcome and I will try and expose it tomorrow, Thanks again

I fitted a stalk I got from my local scrapyard when the blinkers went on the blink on my van, think it was a tenner.
ps. The indicators worked on the hazard switch but not the stalk, so an easy diagnosis and sounds similar to yours if the wipers work with 12 volt applied direct, but not with the stalk ?

Hi

I have undone the 4 screws but can't get the top section away to access the Wiper Stalk wiring see my attached photos

Actually on mine it is 4 screws both on the bottom.

Just got back a little late to call but had a look in the van and managed to drop the bottom section out but can't see a way the top section comes away? can't see any screws on the top and can't see any revealed once the bottom has dropped away, if I need to test out the wiper stalk I need to expose the top I think

On my Renault, once I'd removed the bottom section and put both stalks into the "down" position, the top half just pulled up and out after a bit of a struggle.
Bit hard to see from the pics, but can you unplug the connector to the stalk without dismantling it any further ? You could then plug in a replacement switch, letting it dangle, just to see if that's cured your issue ?

Hi

thanks for that I will try it this later this morning - Cheers

After reconnecting everything the wipers will work on the normal setting and fast setting (but not sure how long they will work) but on the intermittent settings they are starting and stopping in an upright position then start again, so they are very random and stop start. Is there something in the motor that could cause this now?
