I'll try and keep it short, When heading off for our Scotland trip over Christmas we got a mile down the road and the windscreen wipers packed up, so we turned around and headed back to my lock up as couldn't find any fuses blown, the van is 2008 Iveco 3.0ltr and the wipers had previously been hard wired and the switch wasn't working either!
Spent the full day running through all the wiring, earths, switches and plugs with the multimeter and found a couple of dodgy wires into the plug going to the wiper motor, but otherwise couldn't find anything and the wiper motor would receive a signal and work with just the ignition on but as soon as the engine was started after 3 swipes it would stop.
Eventually worked out why the switch for the hardwire had stopped working, the wires went to a plug that was soldered into a dummy relay and plugged into the external on/off switch for the wipers external fuse board and a relay piggy backing of this where the solder had snapped.

So Christmas holiday in Scotland was now cancelled as by the time I had re soldered the dummy relay it was Christmas eve, I'd spent the best part of two days stripping the wiper stalk, the wiper motor and re fitting a new plug on the wiper motor cables and now the wipers started coming on as soon as I started the engine for two or three strokes then stopped again, it wasn't the park switch either! Told you I'd keep it short and sweet

So last port of call was the Body control Module, I had it booked in to have the pulley belts done and a brake fluid change at a commercial garage and told him my woes, he's confirmed it's the BCM and he's tried sourcing new to be told they don't make them, he's tried getting an old one and having it re cloned but he just cant find one, I think he's at the point of just get it out my garage, he's had it four weeks.
So if you haven't all fallen asleep by now it's time for me to start looking and I could do with all you very helpful people who may know who supplies and clones, or just some company that I can speak with to get one, a lot of the companies he contacted will only clone once it is supplied to them.
PS I don't want to keep having to lean forward to hit a switch, and I don't trust how long the solder will last.
Thanks for reading
