I have the fiat ducato moto caravan and discovered the wipers arn't moving at all. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I presumed you have checked fuses, should be in your vehicle handbook? :giggle:

Fuse, switch, motor or earth. Unlikely it could be a jammed mechanism.

No manual for it, tried to find one but no luck yet...

I do not know the year of your van but the wiper fuse may be for Fiat Ducato 2002 - 2006 = No 8 in under bonnet fuses Fiat Ducato 2007-2014 = fuse 43 in under dash fuses

Must be the month for wiper failure, the driving side one snapped off at arm; I’ve just parted with £155.00 to buy Mercedes’ replacement and that’s without a wiper blade. Got replacement mailed from Berlin, didn’t fit my van; next time I’ll consider a visit to a scrappie!

Yep 43 on my Citroen Relay but fuse tested & good so problem must be with the wiper motor

Is there ice on the windscreen? Could be stuck ...

First check the fuse. If you don't have a multimeter to check the fuse replace it anyway with a new one. (You should always carry spare fuses).
Secondly, use a multimeter to check if there is 12v at the wiring connections to the wiper motor when the wiper switch is in the 'On' position (not the 'Intermittent wipe' position). If there is no voltage at those connections (and the fuse is good) there is probably a wiring or switch fault.
If there is 12v at those connections either the wiper motor is faulty or the mechanical linkage is seized.

Hi,
Thanks for your comments / ideas. Function is good, the wiper arm just snapped at the base and flew off. My van is a dear old soul, 2005, like us all bits wear out with age!!
