Window stays -advice needed

I have this style of window stays
But just recently i have had 2 windows spit out the part shown below

Are they buggered? Or can they be 're-inserted' ?

Other question is how do i remove these stays if i was to look at replacing them ?
I can see screws on one end but how are they fixed to the window ?

There is a tiny little hole in the centre of the window mount. Press this in with something sharp and the mount slides off the window easily leaving just the backing plate behind on the window ready for a new part to be slid on in its place.

By the way, when I needed some PolyPlastic window catches and stays, Caravan Crazy had the biggest selection and stock. Prices were not too outrageous either.
