This happened at home and not in M/H but the torch is from M/H.
Whilst watching live TV on our Media Centre I decided to put some power into a wind up torch-every time I started cranking the handle the tv picture froze  I tried it about 10 times with same result every time.
Some one's bound to know why-and doubtless it'll be Page 1 stuff :Rofl1:

That could be good fun on an aire , especially with the van using a genny ...

RF radiation from the little dynamo in the torch.
blocking the tv signal.

hell of a coincidence having the same frequency as the tv signal.

Not RF ..

magnetism is used to de gauss CRT screens so I suspect it was the magnetic field generated by the torch ..

If it's an LCD screen forget what I said

This is a wind up - right !

same reason you get interference on your radio if you have bad sparkplug leads.
RF interference.

even happens if another car with bad leads passes you so the field can be quite large and could include the area around your aerial.

digital signals COULD be more prone if the RF frequency is right.

whatever it is theres an easy solution.....dont wind the torch while watching tv....:Rofl1:

can you wind the radio though as you listen to it.
