Has anyone got these on their van if so are they effective? There appears to be two alternatives for fixing, either with double sided tape or into the window channel, what’s the pros and cons of these?

Got some on our fiat cab van. No great. I find it helps get the smoke out the van when drinking. Don’t smoke smoke in it but will have a ciggy on the drive to site and back. Find they do hinder the view slightly

Were are on third van and third set , down side is that there is less room for my assistant to lean out and pay tolls (a tag overcomes that). They do allow you to have some cab ventilation at night, and whilst driving there is less wind rush. We have the HEKO wind deflectors, which are fitted with tapes in the channel and I did not use the clips.

3 sets of into channel
Very effective, no wind noise, can interfere with electric window but only till they bed in then fine
Just changed van so set no 4 for motor home
Have them on my car too.

I fitted Heko wind deflectors to my Discovery to give some ventilation on the move. They helped keep the screen from misting up as the heater was hopeless.
Being quite tall I did find them in my line of vision when looking right at junctions but I got used to them. I think this would be the same issue with a motorhome. I havnt bothered fitting them so far because the heater keeps the screen clear.

I found then useful on on VW Transporters and have had both types in channel and stuck on Dubflector is one brand they sit in channel and no issues with them I have had the VW official stick on ones and again no issue VW official ones are now in channel !

Our Fiat does not give you a blast of air like the VW Transporter, and have not fitted any deflectors to our Fiat Ducato but can see benefit in terms of giving a bit of ventilation and stopping rain coming in.

The stick on ones seem to work fine just make sure the bodywork is clean, in chanell was fine expect if its not seating properly it can cause the windows to go in to safety mode (trapped finger and auto lower) and lower themselves.

Had them on my VW T6, quite fashionable and cool on the VW scene. However I was never that happy with them as they interfered with vision especially at junction's plus I didn't like the transition from dark to lighter tint of the side window. Looked good but didn't serve any real purpose.

As with Coolcats in our Fiat based coachbuilt there is no great blast of air even with the window fully down.

Had heko ones on my last van, a vw coach built (because they were cool 🤣), but never bothered on current fiat coachbuilt

Just re read my post! Auto correct made me look like an alcoholic 🤣🤣🤣 drinking should have said driving!!! But as a smoker I have a few cigs driving to and from site which the wind deflectors help to go out the window smoke wise!!! 😁

Having read other people thoughts about wind deflectors I don’t think they would make a lot of difference on our coach build. When have driven with the window down it didn’t seem to bad possibly due to the body being wider than the cab.

My Mrs says she wants wind deflectors fitted to me haha

We have them on our van and as we Havnt got the luxury of air con find them useful.I wind the window down a couple of inch’s only.and we get a bit of ventilation without much wand noise!
