Newbie Question: Will Leisure Battery go "flat"?

We've put our new van in storage inside a secure hangar. The storage company installed a battery conditioner for the vehicle battery, which is great. However, I realised the leisure battery won't be charged (thanks to Brains for the Battery Master tip—planning to sort that once we get the van back!).

Now, I'm worried the leisure battery might go flat while the van is in storage. It was fully charged before storage, and we topped it up using an AC/mains to EHU converter plug, when it was on our drive.

Thanks for your help, and sorry for the battery paranoia!

If it's a lithium battery then no issues but if a leað acid or similar it may be worth taking them out and keeping charged up at home.

Do you actually trust the storage to maintain your battery?
I wouldn't.
If they can fit a "conditioner" there must be a mains supply so there's no reason you can't fit a trickle charger

Our van has significant parasitic power drain on the hab side. Even with everything switched off, it was flattening the hab battery in a couple of weeks. Which the previous owner had obviously done several times, so the battery was pretty weak. I've since upgraded to a 280Ah lithium battery, significantly more capacity, so it now lasts a couple of months.

The solution might be to plug into the electric hookup. Often van chargers will also charge the cab battery. But if it doesn't, you could either add a battery master as a permanent install. Or just put the battery tender between a socket inside the van, and the cab battery.

Good point. I can ask about it. I need to figure out how to get leads to the leisure battery inside the van, which is in a boxed compartment.

They're reliable, though. Campervan storage isn't their usual thing—they typically handle fancy supercars and classics that are always on a trickle charge ;)

Interesting feedback on the lithium battery. I've read they're a great "mod" for going off-grid too.

Why didn't I think of that?! I have a mains AC to EHU ("Commando") plug converter lead. I could ask them to use it and plug into their mains.🤞
