Hello all .hope all keeping warm if still in your mhs...me I can't wait for it to become slightly warmer again...me and my fur babies are happy to be in "Freedom" but husband being 74 feeks the cold...😒🥶 so we don't go..grrrr...anyway I digress..looking for a dash cam camera wifi front and back..as I can't see through review mirror through the back window...when a car is so near to the back of me..sometimes if the car is small they don't even show up in side mirrors so annoying...so want a camera did connect a reversing camera..to reverse light...but obviously that's not helpful when going along the road...all recommendations would be gratefully received please...thank you in advance.

In my previous van, I replaced the useless rear view mirror with a screen. It came on with ignition and displayed the view backwards up the road from the narrow angle (roughly 60°) feed from my dual lens rear camera. This produced an image that was similar to a mirror. Cars a few lengths back weren't just dots. When I put the van in reverse, the radio screen switched to the wide angle lens (roughly 120°) that was pointing down at the rear bumper, which was ideal for reversing.

I see two issues. If you want it on all the time, then you can't see the satnav. And if it's on all the time, how long will the battery last?

My opinion is reversing cameras that have a wide enough angle to see the width of the van, aren't very useful for rear view mirror replacements because even a few car lengths away, cars become just a few pixels. You need a much narrower view to see any distance backwards up the road.

I fitted the Set up in post #2 to our 1st Van (Eldiss 105) worked great as an Interior mirror & also helped when reversing. On the Burstner 690g we have now the Camera only shows what your going to Hit , ave tried to lift the Camera up a little to give a Wider & Longer View but it's Solid so might fit another of the said Camera Set Up as an additional.

I bought and fitted one of these front/rear dashcams in our Firefly (that we still haven’t stayed away in!!) along with a BC40 on the rear number plate - so your comment in post#5 is very valid Guigsy !(y)

Living in Spain and driving a RHD tin-tent, I mounted a Garmin BC35, powered, bluetooth camera on the passenger side door mirror to enable a good view at acute junctions. Paired with 890 satnav.

BT sender is mounted in the door and all powered from the window winder's supply.

It's useless. Signal appears to break up, picture goes off and on and off and ... There's only the plastic door panel between sender & receiver - but there's 2 phones, Ipad, radio & satnav all having conversations. Satnav has no difficulty linking with other devices.
Only help I got from Garmin was the suggestion that I move the sender closer, even tho' its within 1.5m already.

It'll be removed before next summer & replaced with a wired unit of some sort.

I have done similar, though my electronic rear view mirror (Wolfbox 900) is also a front and rear dashcam. I have a separate camera connected to the Pioneer radio screen which comes on in reverse. One camera for both purposes is just not practical, so like you I find having two cameras lets you optimise the field of view for each.

Although fully motorised.will a window mechanism still be a winder....and when we open the window, will we still refer to winding it down....very old school, but us old folks know, 😀
