Why?

There's obviously something in the French psyche that makes them stressed if they're out on their own. Would love to know why they do this, we've experienced it several times. Maybe they're frightened of being isolated? Maybe it's a sign of affection, no idea.
I indeed would like to know just the same!! I just hate it. More than once we (JJ and I ) had to move away as some van were too close. At least with 2 vans we could "plan" our space. But we've also been in JJ's Hymer before I bought Max, and LOL JJ'metal music was a way to shout at the closest vans "Not the right place here!!" . Mainly they were French, especially when touring France by all means. I personnaly go mad. If there's no room , ok, but when you have free aires with a lot of room, it's just a NO NO NO!

Nobody likes the French anyway
I learnt here, on this forum I've been on for about 16 years, that apparently nobody in France like the English...... And probably it's something that lots of different people say about other groups of persons never mind where they come from. But it's not the kind of little sentence I agree with, who ever is pointed out. In all the countries , there are nice people, otherwise why would I still be on here? Except when it's Chris killing French !!:giggler::giggler::party3::pop:

In over 45 years of motorhoming we’ve always been made welcome in France and other European countries we’ve visited. We are guests in their countries and if their culture is to park close or get out chairs etc., so be it. It never gets to me and if there is behaviour that I don’t like I move on.

We've always felt welcomed especially our first time in France. We landed on the 14th July and they where flying flags, they even put on a firework display in the evening we felt very special 😉

Last year we were leaving a French site and I stopped the van at the motorhome service point. Stepped out of the cab straight onto a log of dog sh1t 😆 I can laugh now but I was fuming at the time, especially as it could have been easily rinsed away with the hose pipe
Maybe it was the drinking water hose😁

I was in a large open space aire all on my own once in France and around tea time a French van parked right next to me 3-4 feet away along side.. they went out so I move across the car park and shut up shop for the night.. opened the blinds in the morning and yes you’ve guessed it they were parked right next to me again… 😆🤣
Did you check your fuel tank gauge!

On a nice free aire in Monpazier just us and a German van that came in about tea time. We were woken at midnight as he trundled his cassette to the dump in pitch black why he didn't do it earlier is a mystery. Then this morning he lets his dog run around pi***ng and sh***ing over the grass where someone is going to park while he in his pajamas pi**es up the fence of a neighbouring house, WHY? I know he has an empty cassette. He had gone when we got back off a walk but his doggy deposits were left as a parting gift WHY???
Because he is a plonker.

All countries have them unfortunately.

That’s dreadful selfish behaviour. Unfortunately all countries have thoughtless people like that.

We are currently touring Vietnam and Cambodia where there is a real mix of nationalities. Everyone rubs along well Germans, Dutch (does anyone actually live in the Netherlands?), Aussies, Yanks, Koreans and so on. The only ones who don’t seem to mix well are the French, with a few exceptions.

A number of Vietnamese have told us they dislike the French, but I think that’s historic. They seem difficult and not prepared to mix in. They aren’t massively keen on the older Americans either, because they are often so loud and lacking in cultural sensitivity rather than anything else, although the younger ones seem lovely.

I’m not knocking France by the way, we go there a lot and have found people friendly and welcoming. Certainly more than the UK!
