Why haven't I got any gas?

Hi all,

First time motorhome owners, here's our first hurdle! Connected up the gas cylinder, turned on the gas on top of the cylinder itself. No gas coming through to cooker. Is there something else we need to turn on? There's a yellow tap in the gas cupboard, this was in the vertical (on) position when I connected gas cylinder. It says only for inspection use on it, so haven't done anything else with it. The motorhome is an Autotrail Apache 600SE, 2004.

You will have the clip / knob on top of the bottle.
Also inside the van, somewhere, there will be seperate isolation valves for each gas appliance and maybe someone has turned those off..

HOWEVER.. IF not used for a while you do need to bleed the air out the pipes so could take a short time for gas to come through.

Make sure you haven’t got a crash sensor system fitted near the bottle, if so press the two buttons (green first) to bleed gas through.

So which one solved your issue so as others can see I'm case they have a problem?

Do you have a Truma securemotion regulator fitted like this.....

If so have you tried holding down the yellow button (as shown on the pic) for 3 seconds?

If you have the automatic changeover above the bottles you usually have to press the little button on the pipe just above the bottle.

It would help if you could send a picture of your set-up.
There are many different arrangements and it won't help much to learn about the ones you don't have.
