Just love that 'whooshbang' word....I don't get out much!

Looking at reasonably priced security hacks / gadgets / gizmos for our sliding side door and rear barn doors, If anyone can recommend, please?

TIA

If you add make of base vehicle someone will soon help.

Weld it shut has the advantage you won't annoy anyone with the whoosh bangs.

I very nearly went round to our German neighbours and stuck theirs together with JB Weld a few weeks ago!

Wasn’t a whooshbang but an electric whirrclick on the side door and rear tailgate of their camper going off every couple of minutes while they were setting up - for the life of me I can’t understand why they just didn’t leave the things open?

I'll keep that in mind...although, I don't mind annoying our neighbours....especially given its my parents who live there 🤣

Dad's just buying one with the 'whooshbang' too, think we're going to be ostricized from the street!

Back in the room
I know Badknee has fitted a handke of some sort on his so that you dont bang at the end of your "whoosh"

Thanks, RobbyMclark
So it's the 'bang' rather than the 'whoosh' we need to be mindful of, then? 🫣

I suppose whatever you do isn't foolproof, but thought some kind of extra security gadget may benefit

You need to guard against the “pick up under the lock” thief. Another report today from Just smiffy about breakins by this method.
We used pro plates

There’s no need to whoosh or bang Elsie2010 . Close the door slowly and click it shut by pressing the rear edge of the door into the body, it closes with a click very quietly.
There isn’t any locking mechanism at the front of the door it’s at the back but many people slam the doors to get this to work, there’s no need, no need at all.
I fitted a handle to help close it quietly from inside too.

damn Karen posted the same as I was searching for the thread. There are also security threads for all ducato and boxer vans

Take care that whatever you fit doesn't hinder your swift exit from the van in an emergency such as fire. If you need to find keys for an added lock, or a bolt is difficult to access because night time beds get pulled across ...

Totally agree, that's why the bolts are so good, no need for locks and we all know how to use them. Keep it Simple, I say!

Do you need them on newer Ducatos ? Ours is a 21 plate ,I thought I read on here newer models don’t need them ? A change in design at the lock ?
