Hi All,

We've decided to get a Smart car and tow it on a trailer. So first steps first, keen to find out about the above. Charlie the 70IB plus Labradoodle is too big to fit on the Vespa!

Many Thanks.

with motorhomes built after 2012, you must use a type approved towbar, which for some motorhomes are non existent. If your van has the ALKO chassis, there is a standard one that marries up to the existing holes in the chassis rails. But with some you also need chassis rail extensions

Thanks. You'd think he'd made enough money out of the chat shows:smiley:

I bought and fitted a type approved towbar on our MH.
The towbar itself only took less than an hour to fit, but the towbar electric and canbus gear took another 3 hours. Half of that was trying to read the piss poor instructions for the wiring.

Watling towbars in St Albans. It was great to see a bloke very knowledgeable and passionate about his work for once. We had a scooter rack fitted 👌

As above , I had one fitted by Mick Parkinson , drove to his workshop for 8am , he gave me a car , day out in Southport , all done by 2pm

Mine is a 2007 so he made a towbar for it , galvanised brackets bolted to the chassis then either just a towbar or a towbar / bumper

I went for the latter , it's very well constructed £400 fitted with electrics

Another endorsement for Mick Parkinson at Freckleton. Good service at a fair price on our Pilote P650.

I fitted my own bought from P F Jones complete with wiring loom and control module for my current VW T6. The module needs coding to the BCM (Body Control Module) which I did with VCDS.

And yes of course it was fitted correctly!
