Fiat ducato compass
Hi
im new here and totally new to campervanning.
just bought a MK1 Ducato Compass drifter 304 yesterday and wanting to get my teeth into it, id love to know who originally built/converted it to a camper and i beleive its a coachbuilt one, Ive emailed Fiat and asked one campervan builder for advise but is there any pointers as to try and find this information?

thank you

Essentially, its an Eldiss/Hymer/Thor

Compass started in England the 70's in the 90's eventually became part of the Explorer Group, bought by Erwin Hymer group that was in turn bought by the US giant. Thor

Compass was formed by Siddle Cook a few years after he sold his original company - Elddis. The name Elddis is Siddle reversed.

He would still go to work to keep busy, keeping the place clean well into retirement. I worked with some of the original Compass cabinet makers who still worked at Elddis about 10 years ago.

I supplied all the graphics when it first started at Langley Park. Great bunch of lads. It was run by Siddles son Raymond. When it was sold to Elddis i bowed out. They didn't want quality, just cheap.

Check with DVLA about what is required. They are very fussy if you are to change your log book.
