Whitby recommendation

Living in the Dales I never needed to eat out. But a few weeks ago we were showing some visitors around and had a Fish and Chips in Hawes. Without a doubt they were excellent. Crisp fresh chips and excellent batter keeping the fish moist. Enjoy

Another vote for Abbey Wharf. Been there a few times and always good. A little hidden away up the stairs so you can usually get a seat

As you walk down the main street alongside the harbour there's a fish & chips Restaurant called Papa's, its fish & chips were first class when we ate there 2 year ago and very very reasonable you may have to join small queue outside but well worth it.
We had a takeaway from Papa's last week. Reheated chips and soggy batter. Avoid.

The Black Horse Inn in Church St does nice tapas and has decent ales, if that's what you fancy. They call the tapas, "yapas". Yorkshire tapas.......

Obviously run by a right comedian.

Thanks all, couldn’t get into Trenchers, que was way too long. Tried Mr Chips and got the last table without waiting. Food was excellent and the restaurant was immaculate.
Thanks again 👍
