Whitby Goth weekend - overnight parking suggestions

We're interested in going to the Whitby Goth weekend 26th - 29th October and looking for an overnight stay central to Whitby. We're number 10 on the reserve list for the meet, so it's not looking likely that we'll be able to stay there. Has anyone stayed on the car park near the Co-op over Goth weekend, or has anyone any other overnight suggestions? Thanks

We stayed here last October and came across the Goth weekend by chance. http://www.hookshousefarm.co.uk/ There's a bus stop outside the site. Bus runs every 15 mins to Whitby. No hard standing so we had to park on the path.

That used to be our favorite campsite when we used to go up there in our VW camper, when enquiring about a weekend up there in the MH I was told the don't allow MH's on we're 7.3m

We stayed there last year but we are only 6.5m I don't know if it makes any difference or not. I found the site owners very helpful, so may be worth calling them and asking.

It was on asking that they refused the MH, yet I've seen loads of big caravans there having trouble getting back up the hill!

Maybe I should just call in sometime and be a bit vague on the van length

We stayed on the car park last week. But met another MHer who said he counted 91 MH on goth weekend last year !!so park early if you hope to get a space!!!
