Which pure sine wave inverter?

Any recommendations (before I buy a Victron 250w inverter) for a small inverter to run Starlink and the 4K TV? I will be drawing a (nominal) max of around 100-120w @230v across the two devices. I would obviously ‘love’ another Bluetooth app to keep an eye on power consumption. 😂

Key objective is not having to run the main inverter..

Don’t necessarily feel the need to pay the premium price of Victron, but accept it is often worth paying the premium most of the time, just after a decent alternative before I spend the spondoolies 😇

Sunshine Solar do a reasonably priced 300 continuous/600 peak pure sine wave inverter, I bought one a few weeks ago.

FYI, my starlink will not run on my 300w inverter, it seems to take over 10 amps from the battery at start up, the inverter can't cope with that?

Just thinking about your post again, 10a @12v isn’t a big load for a 300w 230v inverter?

Either a poor quality inverter, of very weak batteries, or both.
 
It's an old one not sure of the make, it is a pure sine wave one, but amp meter flashing 10 amps at start up so maybe more than that ?
 
Batteries are good, working fine with a 1000w inverter, yeah, maybe just a poor inverter.
The 1000w inverter says 4 amps when starlink is up and running.

Perhaps worth noting that a Victron 12/250 is not a 250W inverter. The 250 refers to 250VA and the rating in Watts is 200W at 25°C and 175W at 40°C.

My Victron 12/500 (400W) has been super reliable and has been running my CPAP all night, every night, for several years. Even when we are on a hook up I use the inverter because I consider it more reliable than site electrics and the CPAP shutting down unexpectedly is unpleasant.

I'm in the middle of converting my Starlink router to run direct off 12v. Would be finished if I didn't keep being distracted with other jobs that I am being given or 'pop up' ......

Not my best or neatest bit of soldering, but it's all tested and outputting as it should when connected to 240v as per the test shown on the Everlanders.

I have the 12- 48v inverter and 12v regulated supply, just need to connect them all up when I get chance.

I’ve got a 4K TV to run now too, so will have to use an inverter, until I get brave enough to dismantle the TV and bypass the inbuilt AC to DC power supply… 🤦‍♂️

(As a percentage of their rating) I will be running something circa 100-120w continuous, that with a 40 Centigrade inverter would see me running at around 60-70% capacity of the 175w rating, is that in the ‘sweet spot’ or should I be going for a larger inverter and aiming for 40%?

Top tip - use a bloody soldering iron with a smaller tip than I had lol! I also think I used a bigger cable size than I needed to !

To be honest it took longer to get the front off than solder the connections though. I've since seen someone using a hair dryer to release the adhesive holding the glass front in place that seems to be another method other than the craft knife and lolly stick method I used!

Ready to connect to 12v supply and test. Probably won't be until Sunday though ....

I have a Sunshine Solar one and it works really well and came with double link cables and megafuse holder and even a wired remote display and on/off.

A Victron one you can run flat out a lot of the cheaper ones trip out before full power is reached.
General rule is not to buy one far too big for the lightly load as the no load current of a big inverter will be higher than a small one.
