As I’m digging into the internal workings of our Adria while installing various items, I thought I’d investigate the possibility of fitting an external shower point in the garage. We would certainly find a use for one as we did with the gas fired Kampa Geyser shower when camping. I can access nearby hot and cold water pipes and the run to a suitable position near the access door is both short and doable, so the question is; any recommendations for an adjustable (and maybe thermostatic if such a thing exists) shower control with long reach hose and handset that would be suitable?

The ones I've seen are just a shower mixer tap and a hose with a trigger head, keep it simple👍
unless you have microswitch taps😟

following on from 'which' shower - where would those who have added a shower actually position it?

i am torn between a couple of different locations for different reasons - access to pipework isnt an issue as i am more than comfortable with running additional pipework if necessary.

i also dont want to site the head inside a locker, due to the inevitability of a dripping head eventually or escape of water when removing the head.

so, really it comes down to the rear, or the sides. having it under the wind out awning could be useful, but then would i really want to potentially create a puddle that might be 'walked back into the motorhome' - having it at the rear would solve that and allow me to work out some way of the shower head attaching to the rear ladder. having it on the opposite side to the hab door might be good, but then again, puts the shower in front of someone elses hab door when parked up, which just doesnt seem right (we wouldnt be naked when showering though !!)

where have you fitted an external shower and why did you choose that location please?

12v socket in garage + cassette cupboard. Switched on lead. You can then set the shower up on a suction cap anywhere outside the van you can get the water too.

As RB said keep it simple, just easy to fit a bullfinch mixer, does the job admirably 🤷‍♂️
I wanted mine on the opposite side to hab door as we will on occasions have an awning attached. My Adria 600SL has boiler on n/s under belted seats next to fresh water and toilet cassette, so I stuck it in between, less than a metre of hose and hardly any bends, nice and straight forward T-in and out as per photo's. Why make life difficult, and not bad for a retired car salesman lol 🤣

Update on my OP.

After considering options I went for the Bullfinch mixer which I installed into a location by the offside (hab door side) garage door. Measured twice, thrice and a few more times and then drilled, which worked out perfectly to hide the interior fittings behind the panel that covers the water pump. Outside lined up perfectly with the cold water fill point and 12v power - which eased my OCD no end! I found nearby hot and cold feeds lurking beneath the false floor in the under bed cupboard and fished the feed pipes through from there and connected with 15mm slimline isolation valves and 12mm reducers.

It came in for a lot of use on our recent trip to Greece/Crete as we were frequently on beachside park ups.

Nice job Mr B 👌 look's like Mrs B is enjoying not making a mess on your mats 🤣
Funny how your pump etc is on the opposite side to my Adria, but glad it is as we need to fit the awning on longer breaks !

Presume that’s for me?

Yes, I had a 10m coil of blue kicking around so wasn’t going to splash out for no reason. Ironically my wife originally said she wouldn’t mind if the shower could only be plumbed to the cold service as we’d only be using it for washing feet or muddy shoes etc. She’s now changed her mind after using it - including for washing clothes and dishes al fresco!
