Just wondering which membership is best for a MH owner to be in. We have been Camping and Caravan Club members before but not sure about how good the others are, Motorhome Owners Club etc.

Where to start…….

C&CC give you the choice of not having hook-up but assign you a pitch rather than letting you choose.

CAMC usually have better facilities, let you choose your pitch and sites are often in more convenient locations for walking into town. They don’t usually have pitches without hook-up and can be a lot more expensive per night.

A lot depends on your age. CCC give an age discount at 60, whereas the CAMC don't. Can make a lot of difference. When we were younger, CCC clubsites were always pricier than other sites, now we're of more mature persuasion, they're always cheaper :LOL:

CAMC have more CLs, than ccc does CSs

Best way to choose - push the boat out and join both for a year, and then decide which you prefer, or which is more relevant to your needs. ;) :giggle:

Both have pluses and minuses.

C&CC, in addition to the 'Age Concession' from age 60, which is handy; also provide lots of Temporary Holiday Sites (THS), which are normally very reasonably priced, laid back, friendly and relaxed. Can be particularly good value during peak season. (y)

Temporary Holiday Sites plus the age concession rate is what keeps us in the CCC.

Whilst the CCC may allocate a pitch for you/us.. we have often asked for a been given a different pitch.

CCC in addition to giving an non peak discount for over 60's also give a peak season discount at some sites once you've been a member for a while.

Edit, if you book online there is a box for special requests so if you know the pitch number you want you can request it subject to availability ofcourse.

C&CC sites are also discounted midweek.

We recently saved the equivalent of the annual membership of the CAMC by booking the Eurotunnel through them rather than booking direct.

Temporary Holiday Sites make it worth joining the C&CC.
