Having problems with Leisure Battery not charging after rain ingress into mains connector caused a short and tripped indoor switch. Dried the connector, plugged back in and now when plugged into mains, 240v power sockets work but can’t turn on control panel (no lights). Checked the trip switches and discovered the large one (under a sticker with a fan on?) was down so I’ve switched it on so now they’re all in the on position - been for a short drive but no luck. Any suggestions please.

Why is the Chausson Owners Manual so poor?

Sounds like either the leisure battery is flat, or the water ingress, or result flashover has caused a failure of the panel itself. Do you have a multimeter?

If yes, disconnect the EHU. Expose the leisure battery, make sure it is well vented abfore checking the voltage between the terminals and report back here.
If no, but you have a 12v sidelight type bulb in your spare bulbs (preferably not a headlamp bulb as they get very hot, very quickly) and a short length of wire available longer that the distance between the battery terminals.. Do the same preaparation as above. Wind some bared wire around the outside of the metal part of the bulb and, if available, stick it on with tape leaving the base connection of the bulb exposed but not touching the bare wire. Attach the other end of the wire to the negative terminal and then touch the bulb base terminal onto the positive. It may well spark hence the need to vent the battery area well as they give off hydrogen which is explosive. However its also lighter than air so will escape natuarally if exposed. The bulb should come on at full brightness. If its dim the battery, or does not light at all, the battery is flat.

Is anything on 12v working?
If not, it may be the 30 amp fuse in the leisure battery supply cable?
Often hard to find!

Check the blade fuse and midi fuses that are located in the charging circuit box of tricks.

If it's a Ducato based 630 you should find this box under the black plastic cover between the seats, just before the step down into the hab unit from the cab. Remove the cover screws and cover then there will probably be a wood infill secured with a few screws into the floor bridging ply panel.

Once the wood infill is removed you should be able to find a black plastic box that may be held closed by a cable tie. Open the box and the fuses can be seen and checked.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies folks. I “think” I’ve solved it. Multimeter showed a flat Leisure battery. Disconnected mains and Charged it up with my GTech and reconnected everything. After removing charger, all seemed OK including 12v circuits. Now back on mains and on-board charger working as is solar panel. Have checked daily since and so far so good. Going to leave mains attached as I normally do this time of the year. Fingers crossed no further issues. (What a fiasco getting to the battery under the passenger seat!).

Once again thanks folks.
