11:15am: broadband connection goes dead
11:30am: back up...or not
11:32am: redirect to a BT page saying that there could be a serious problem
11:35am: log into PlusNet site with dongle and find:
"At approximately 11:10am a significant number of our broadband customers lost connection to the internet. We suspect this was caused by an outage on our supplier's network.
We apologise for the inconvenience and will update this thread as soon as we have any more information on this issue."
Since PlusNet are owned by BT, is this ISP-speak for "someone's put their JCB through one of our nice shiny fibre-optic cables...and we're trying to work out which one"?
