Hi, has anyone fitted an uprated clutch too a 2.3 manual fiat ducato, ie a stronger clamping force on the clutch cover, possibly a stage one conversion.
My van has had its bhp and more importantly the torque raised (chipped) and in certain conditions in 5th and 6th gear unless you drive with a very gentle right pedal the clutch can slip momentarily..I know its close to need changing so want to uprate at the same time.
If anyone has sourced or had fitted an uprated clutch could you please tell me where you got it from because at the moment I'm struggling other than one company in Germany.
Thanks in advance

If the chip is overpowering the clutch in top gears I’d get the mapping altered to compensate that or you will be stressing what ever clutch arrangement you put in.

I drove a standard 2.3 ducato for work, and it suffered the same fate, after a lot of searching we found that certain ducato clutches when been driven at around 50/60mph suddenly slip for a split second when you hit the go pedal...when it was removed the clutch friction plate was low but not shot, it was the cover plate that was the weak link and did not have sufficient clamping force.

Did it do this before the upgrade?

Yes, purchased with 18k on clock and was starting to do it at 20k and before remap..as I said earlier my works van that weighed 3ton all up suffered the same fate eventually.
