I have still got two trips left on my frequent traveller ticket until the 21st of Jan.
One set is for a trip to Spain in Late December for three weeks, the other is still floating free and I want to use it up not waste it.. What is a good suggestion for a week that will not be a frozen/washed out, disaster in the not good weather time, I was thinking of turning left this time and going towards Germany, when do the Christmas markets start and where? Or somewhere else nice to go to.

Brugge is a nice place to visit. We have visited it using rail and a hotel but I understand that there is a nice Aire, complete with EHU, that is a 10 minute walk from the city centre.

Amsterdam is nice too. We visited using plane and hotel but again there is a place close to the centre you can stay at I am told.

If you decide to go to Germany before Christmas, I believe you will need a Green Euro 4 emissions sticker and winter tyres.

Aarchen has an excellent town centre aire, about 20 mins walk to markets.

As a city I really like it, yes I went, with hubby, to red light area, it’s a must. I’m a nosey old bat! Flower market, the Rembrandts loads of stuff to do. Can be darn cold though! Haven’t stayed in MH, flew and hotel. Never touch the green stuff, and actually find the smell quite offensive.

We spent a bit of time in Germany a few months ago. Absolutely loved Rothenburg am der Tauber. Large Aire a 5 minute walk from town. Very beautiful town with very tasteful shops although they were a bit expensive. They have a xmas market.
