I've never asked a question on here before, but have seen many do so and have comprehensive, helpful results...so here goes...

We are currently in Mhamid, south of Zagora and soon heading for Marrakesh. We have managed to melt the plastic housing on our Whale water pump. The pump still works, but with it being incorrectly seated it heats up and wobbles like mad (currently has large cable tie on it). Just wondered if anyone has a name or contact or company (person or his brother) so we could get it fixed.

We are 3 weeks into a 3 month trip so really would be ideal to have it replaced, rather than wait till we are back on mainland Europe.

Can't help really but I would ask round the popular repair garages in Zagora for any ideas.

We will be in Tiznit in a day or two and there's a place by the municipal campsite that has that kind of stuff and I'll ask .

Usually a boat chandler is the best bet but not many of them round your way!

Good shout regarding Zagora, we stayed there two nights ago and will have to pass by anyway when leaving here.

Dont know if this is helpful but,
Allocamp RV Services
Rue 2 Mars
Agadir 80000
Telephone : +212 5288 22823

Looks like a fairly well stocked accessory supplier for Motorhomes and RV’s to the general public.

Not sure if they will have what you want, or an alternative, but could be a good local starting point.

Let me lnow how you get on 😊👍

It’s a bit worrying why it melted in the first place, I’d of thought it would have to get quite hot to melt the plastic, did you leave it on for a long time…? 😎

Thanks I will add it to the list as we head south on the coast after Marrakesh

I was hoping nobody asked that . We got stuck in the desert in Camp Jermal so lowered the tyre pressures and emptied the contents and stupidly pumped the full fresh water tank out through the grey...and the results are above to see. Lesson learned. We got out of the desert tho...so I'll look at the positives.

Incidentally the road from Zagora to Ouazarzate is a lovely drive.
Thanks, that's a few now so light at the end of the tunnel. Looking forward to the drive as we're stopping at Air Benhaddou (so she tells me).

I used to do that all the time on a past motorhome as the drain tap didn't work. I also once left the pump running dry for a fortnight. The pump still worked though it was getting a bit noisy. It was a shurflo pump so could probably replace your whale one with a better pump.

To be honest I never liked the original pump as it was very noisy so will take the opportunity to upgrade if possible. Won't be emptying the fresh like that again.

We've got a spare Shurflo in the back and were headed for Mhamid but changed tack when the wind got up start of the week, I've driven through a sandstorm before - not fun.
Yeh it was bad this morning but died down by lunchtime. Doesn't slow down the locals...

I'm probably a bit gun hoe (she would say reckless) but had some of our best stops with me saying "ah it'll be fine..." So it won't stop me.

That was a site in île de Re France local fire engine pulled us out, got a pvc now so I’ll be even more reckless….😆😎

If you're ok to fit it and you can find a Moroccan who knows what you need they can probably get it sent in a grand taxi to Ouazarzate or Zagora. Thats what they did for us when the engine water pump failed on a previous trip, Casablanca to just North of Safi overnight, wasnt that dear. Hows your French?

Thanks for the tip. A: Crap just like most typical scotsmen, can order beer and wine and ask for a large block of comte.
