We have just been to the local Repsol but they dont have the regulator.
Benicàssim is nearby. Does anyone know the name of that shop? We could ring ahead
Pretty much any half decent campsite shop will have the regulator that you need.

Your connector is UK calor style, he will only have seen the ones suitable for the Spanish bottles. He is not being difficult. If you buy a Spanish propano bottle you will need a Spanish regulator for it and a hose that connects to your inlet. As you don't have a built in regulator on your inlet connection you need one on the Spanish bottle at least. Don't buy the cheaper adaptors, as these are only used when you have a built in regulator..We’ve driven to the Benicàssim Azahar site as there are two camping shops nearby.. The guy at the gas depot said he’d never seen that thread before on our connector....
That old “never seen a anything like this before” syndrome ?
Now to wait till they open at 5 ....
UK gas regulators are not compatable with Spanish bottles. You will either have to remove your regulator and buy a Spanish one, which is why I suggested you went to a motorhome dealer, who would have done that for you and would have had to parts in stock. That old “never seen a anything like this before” syndrome ?

Do not know how much deposit is required ( not a lot though ) and refills for a big bottle is currently 12€ BeniJaws, if we go to this depot will they sell us an English calor gas Or do we still need a regulator and pigtail hose etc?
Thanks
We are in day three now on this search!
I’ve got as far as getting a Spanish regulator fitted on our existing hose from Mobil Rodin. Took us four or five drives past as their address was a kilometre measurement on the N340 - impossible to put into sat nav!!
The next job is to find someone to sell us a bottle of gas. We prefer propane but would accept butane at a push. The woman at the shop said we had to find an engineer to give us a paper to make it official! Going to see what my fellow campers suggest at Azahar campsite tomorrow!
That was our experience, Hence the "Benni Market" bottle.Officially a safety certificate for the motorhome is necessary for the initial supply of a gas bottle in Spain which is why most people have to obtain second hand ones.

this is the Spanish regulator that has been screwed into the orange lead that used to screw into my calor gas bottle. Do I also need a pigtail hose? Still to source a bottle.

are you sure that's a regulator ? it should tell you the working gas pressure in millibars if it doesn't its just connector for a Spanish Repsol / Cepsa gas cylinderView attachment 364765

my thoughts as wellIf the picture is a representation of the contents then that is not a regulator but an adaptor and will allow the full unregulated pressure into your system, extremely dangerous.
The Spanish regulators do not have a threaded connection but a male push in connector that fits into the pipe and is secured with a hose clip, and all the ones that I have used have a simple flip over on/off switch on the top.
The connector in the picture you posted of your system is unlike any that I have seen in that it has a threaded outlet connected to your system by a high pressure pigtail, I presume it is a crash regulator
Edit: Both the Spanish regulator and adaptor fit onto either butane or propane in the same manner ie push down.
if your still struggling i have a friend on Camping Tauro who has a new Safefill refillable 7.5kg cylinder which is full of propane with a standard UK propane connection and included in the sale is a Spanish adapter which allows you to top it up at any Spanish LPG station as well as UK LPG outlets when back home . You could use your existing UK gas bottle mounted regulator . www.safefill.co.ukMany thanks for all the help on here!
