I am looking at options available to up plate our three year old Malibu 640 and SVTech are asking for the Carthago VIN plate.

I have already sent them the chassis VIN plate, but cannot find a Carthago VIN plate anywhere.

Does anyone know where it is likely to be?

Many thanks
Chris

Check through all the paperwork,it's only a stick on one,we bought our van second hand at five years old and it was still there!

On my Carthago Compactline they use the passenger side footwell and inside base of the wheel arch. I have to lift the mat to reveal them. Could be different on the Malibu Vans but until last year they both came out of the same factory in Slovenia.

Many thanks, I’ll have a look at the passenger side footwell. What do you mean by the inside base of the wheel arch?

Should be on the windscreen ?
Thank you for you suggestion. The chassis VIN is on the windscreen, not a separate sticker that Carthago should have put somewhere else.

The front wheel arch starts in the footwell, you may need to move some carpet or insulation. My Compactline might not be the same as your Malibu Van.

You can’t rely on Carthago attaching the final sticker (as already mentioned). I was given it at handover because it came out of the document pack with the Certificate of Conformity. I was told to stick it next to the original one in the footwell.

I’m starting to think that we haven’t got a sticker. I’ve looked everywhere and just checked the Certificate of Conformity, but there’s no sticker there. We had a terrible handover as it was in the pandemic.

The dealer was awful and hadn’t bothered to sign some of the docs such as the hab check and other docs so I wouldn’t be surprised if they forgot to give us the sticker. Maybe Carthago didn’t supply one.

I checked with SV Tech and luckily the converters VIN is only required for towing. I’m hoping that the VIN plate from the up plating exercise will overrule all other VIN plates including the Carthago VIN.

It should be on the certificate of conformity

Carthago normally leave it for the dealer to fit but they often don't bother.
I think this is what happened as I can’t find it anywhere, including with the certificate of conformity ☹️

I just hope that we don’t need it.

Thanks, so much for everybody’s help and suggestions.

I would never accept delivery without a certificate of Conformity.
