Hi, a new Pilote P740 owners with 2 spaniels. Wondering what tips people have for carrying the dogs whilst driving (crate or harness?) & where to settle them down at night in a crate or not? And where is best for you all?

Doesn't seem to be an ideal space from early inspection - what do you all do please?

You might get as many opinions as you do posters. Do what you feel is right / legal / Insurance compliant / safe for your dogs / safe for you. I would say that of you tether them, I would recommend that you tether them to something very securely fixed unless it’s just to stop them wandering around. My old girl “roams” free in the van when parked up. Having said that she doesn’t move far or fast. You’ll find what works for you.

Pippa, Parsons Russell, has free range when parked up, her bed is between back of driving chair-when turned round-and pedals, she likes the privacy.
Whilst on the move she is on the floor between my legs/feet, passenger side, & comes up ‘for air’ occasionally to look out the window.
As a puppy she travelled & slept in a secured crate.

I use a headrest dog car seat belt (headrest used isn't the driver or front passenger ones) attached to a dog harness.
For my smaller dog I've got a non-metallic dog travel crate which attaches securely to the anchored seat belt(s).

I'm really not a fan of attaching dog seat belts to dogs' collars.
