Want to take the dogs for a walk on the beach. Whee can I park 30 foot motorhome for the day? All suggestions welcome.

Thanks

A bit of a hike, but top of the hill by the Abbey. Loads of space, but overnight not allowed.

Sandsend just North of Whitby lay bye right on beach
What he said ☝️

Parking usually free this time of year, can stay overnight if you wish, easy walk along beach to whitby

As said, between Whitby and sandsend. Check tide times as not much beach left at high tide. Example was last Tuesday.

Next to sainsburys is a eatery pub can park on the access road 15 min walk to the beach free all day parking, look on p4n

As a local I'd go for Sandsend like several suggest.

The Penny Hedge pub near Sainsbury's do allow motorhome parking and I suspect overnights but I'm not sure if they charge and whether they expect you to eat there. It's quite a walk from there to the beach.

Sandsend is free until the start of March and overnighting seems ok.

The park and ride I think is April to October, but not all of the drivers will let dogs on the buses, anyone objects and they stop you, this happened last year when we were at Broadings Farm. Sandsend would seem best as no steps for the dogs to negotiate.

Sandsend beach, last year. If you zoom in you can just see the Abbey.

Thanks for the Sandsend suggestions. Already checked s4s and it shows a cross for larger motorhomes. We are 9m per the opening post - will we fit?

just going for the day on Monday

There’s no limit to size at Sandsend it’s just on the road side. As said you can pay (in season) and even stay over night, both sides of the road. If you don’t mind being on a hill and traffic noise.
You can park in the car parks at back of train station and co-op (no overnighting) also up at the top by the abbey in the car park (again no overnighting) plus as said there’s the park and ride. Don’t worry loads of places . Have fun.

If you overlap at all in the car park you will get a ticket. As I well know.😩

Oh dear 😟
Strike that idea then.
With us being in a PVC we don’t think about that. We can usually find somewhere everywhere we go. Tend to try get it so rear end is over the grass edge etc.

we have never had a problem taking our cockapoo on the park and ride its the best bet as parking in whitby is a nightmare and very expensive
