Temperature measuring device never showed more than 9c. I was nice and cosy apart from snot flying around.

Perch Rock Light.

I used to visit New Brighton as 'nipper', with my parents.

A 30 minute bus ride into Liverpool, a walk down to the Pier Head, then hop onto the ferry (Egremont and Leasowe were two of the ferry names that I recall), spend the afternoon on the sands (there was sand in the late 40s and early 50s, but it disappeared, maybe it's back again now; I've not been there since about 1951 ?

Now Cape Clear it is in sight
We’ll be off Holyhead by tomorrow night
And we’ll set our course for the Perch Rock Light
Oh! Jenny get your oat cakes done.

Now my boys we’re off Holyhead
No more salt beef, or weavilly bread
One man in the chains swingin’ the lead
Oh! Jenny get your oat cakes done.

Now my lads we’re round the Rock
All hammocks lashed and chests well-locked
We’ll haul her into the Waterloo Dock

Oh! Jenny get your oat cakes done.

I recall seeing the Spinners performing this; late 50s/early 60s, 'Gregsons' Pub, . . . . . maybe, . . . . . it was a long time ago.

Love it there, spent many a night there (and will do more just not as often) shame they put height barriers on the perch car park.

The corner cafe is bang on for cheap rough n ready eats.

Quick 20 -30 min walk down the front and ferry over the mersey to the centre,

I was trying to remember last time i was there. I am pretty sure i was sat in a trolley being pushed by one of the tribe.
Far better than i was expecting. I was expecting something like that p;ace next to Prestatyn (can't spell Ryle?)
