Wheelchair needed for one day in Cambridge (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

A unusual request. We are currently at the CAMC site at Cherry Hinton We have met up from friends from Germany. Unfortunately the lady is still in recovery after breaking both her legs 8 weeks ago. She is very keen to see Cambridge but is unable to walk very far. Is there anyone who could lend or hire us a wheelchair just for the day (Friday 12th July). Happy to leave a deposit.

A lot ofcharity shops sell secondhand wheel chairs, they may let you loan one for a day for a donation.

We did try them and they hire for a minimum of 2 weeks.

Try the local Red Cross, and or St John Ambulance. We hired one from the Red Cross in Ipswich a few years back when mum was released from hospital after having a pacemaker fitted. I think that was two days but is a while back.

Car park under the hotel bottom of Tennis Court Road - there is a mobility floor. Hire out scooters etc?

I think it was a quote from a web site not an offer to lend one

Good luck we left Cherry Hinton on Tuesday it’s an awkward walk to the bus, narrow pavement and busy road
