Hello everyone. I've just joined this forum and I'm posting for the first time. We have a new 8096DF Rapido motorhome. It has 16 inch alloy wheels and a tyre inflation kit! We have a 16 inch spare wheel but do not want to take up valuable boot space. We are looking for an underslung wheel carrier but are having immense difficulty sourcing one. Is there anyone out there who can help us with this? We do have a mechanic who could adapt the chassis to get one to fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.

Personally I would probably go to a good engineering company, a small one, that might help.

Or a decent blacksmith Roth his salt would knock something up then get your garage to fit it.

Is the 8096df on a light or heavy chassis as I think the light may lack chassis extensions.

On my rapido mk1 version (got beam distance wrong). Ducato wind up mechanism mounted on Brackets manufactured by local blacksmith. 2 brackets & one beam.

Welcome to the forum.

Can't help with the question I'm afraid.

However, I would advise you to change your username, presuming that is your actual name and date of birth, as I wouldn't have thought it advisable to include both in your screen name.

Many members include their birth year in their name, but the full date is probably not a good idea.

Hi and welcome.

On my Rapido 8086df with Alko chassis, i have a spare wheel fitted.

If you google Fiat Ducato spare wheel, and find something like this; https://coastalmotorhomes.co.uk/fia...elay-spare-wheel-carrier-2006-onwards-oe.html

I fitted one of these to my previous Burster (my19, non Alko), and it was a doddle, Fiat had threaded the chassis for it.

It may be more complex if Alko?

Yes I'll change it. Thanks for the heads up.
