Out yesterday in the MH expecting to see lots of other MHs and we did. However, hardly any waved! So disappointing as in our last van we always got lots of waves back - makes journeys even more fun.
Is everyone getting boring now?

I’ve stopped waving to PVC’s simply because I’ve been waving at every van and white van man thinks I’m gesticulating at him.
Seriously though, sometimes it’s difficult to notice whether an oncoming PVC is a Motorhome or a van until you get alongside and notice the windows or make, whereas a coach built, you can see what it is from a mile off.
Incidentally, my wife sinks in her seat when I wave to everyone - she says I should get a job on an aircraft carrier waving my arms.

We always wave, when we set off on the 4th July everyone was waving like maniacs which was fun it’s settled down now but we got loads of waves coming down from Scotland yesterday of course could have been the locals giving us the 2 fingers but they seemed happy 😆

When my little grandaughter was in her child seat (seems an eternity ago.... thanks Covid.. Grr) next to me, I had bought her one of those big sponge hands on a stick. She loved waving and it kept her mind off the journey... For a little while.

We dont wave at VW vans T2 -T6's as they never wave back to us in a coach built, they seem to be in their own little world, or maybe just California Dreaming.
We try and wave at every MH we see, some respond but some "more Seasoned" types dont, its as if they are saying, been there done that years ago.:X3:Eat my Tag Axle dust, sucker!
The Ocado, Tesco, & Sainsburys delivery vans are harder to identify until very close up, the look of bewilderment from the driver at times is worth the effort though.:giggle:

I find them easy to spot: always driven by a person in a reflective jacket and tearing around carelessly or parked on bends, at traffic lights, junctions or half on the pavement. It's going to get worse as online buying increases. :(

Yes I have noticed a lot of Taxi/mini Cab drivers double parking blocking the road, while they jump out to deliver Take Aways. But I guess its the only way during lock down they could make a living, so I didnt toot them. I wont be so happy if they do it from now on though!

TinaL there's definitely a hierarchy of VW campers when it comes to waving. When we had our '75 Bay (Type 2), we'd get the VDub wave from other Bays and Type 25's but not so often from Splitties (Type 1).
I think each of the classic models would wave to their own and try to wave to the one "above" (if you see what I mean). Gave up trying to wave at the newer Types (4, 5, ..) as they didn't wave back. :)

I don’t wave to small camper vans because I look down on them and I don’t wave to A class vans as I have to look up to them!😗
😂😂😂 so true. Didn't get waves in my van conversation but get them all the time in my A class.

I like the waving but maybe some don’t want to wave back as there a few on here would immediately see it as the second wave 🤣🤣🤣.

From our just completed NC500 there were definitely fewer wavers than previous years. Didn't stop me though 👋 :D

I wave but our van looks like a van with one of those pipe carry tube things head on,
Also the solar panel looks like a large door on a roof rack so we don’t get many, miserable (insert expletive)
Sometimes you just don’t realise until it’s too late.

Fairly new to this m/homing lark and enjoying waving at other m/homes just to enjoy the response.
It varies from a cursory lift of the hand to full on both arms going (including passenger!) animated gesticulations!!! :giggle:

In our rentals i used to wave only if the oncoming waved at me..........if there was time. In Aussie they wave a lot.
Bikers are similar with a nod, unless you are a BMW owner, they tend to be far superior and nod not a lot (sold my BMW RT for the Honda cause i like nodding:LOL:(y))
