We have got past the Magic number of 80 so it seems as if our Marquee is on , so we are making plans idea's and help welcome .

Up to now we are planning on Saturday Morning a :Great Funster Bake Off: where those who wants can make a cake we could have a Easter theme.
We can then all enjoy them with a cup of coffee/tea and a get to say hello to fellow funsters.

We can have a Easter Bonnet Competition for those who want should be fun.
Janine & Barrie are sorting out some Music for us

I am looking to put an escorted walk together around Chester not a Ghost walk though as it can be to cold in the evening, maybe on the History of Chester, I will call into the Town Hall next week and see what cost and what they do.

Any ideas comments please join in I will try and keep them on this thread otherwise they will get lost in the big thread with the names on.

Looking forward to it not long now .

Hi Carol, sounds great, happy to make a cake, it will probably be a lemon drizzle with a Easter chick stuck on the top!

Have not made an Easter bonnet since the kids were at school, I'm sure Mr Mousy will be happy to model my creation..

Come on Joy, can't you remember making those rice crispy cakes with little eggs on at school? I was 5, I ate all the Cadbury Easter eggs on our table and was sent to the headmistress.

Enjoyed the walk you arranged last time we came to Chester, Carol, so would be up for something similar.

Easter cakes! Yum. We are only back in the uk for two days before heading to Chester so will try our best to bake something. I'm not doing a bonnet though! :-)

That reminds me, just seen a 'Gin and tonic' cake on Facebook....now where's that recipe.....?

Wow Gin & Tonic cake :Eeek: that sounds like a plan, sounds as if it's going to be fun.

Let's see what other suggestions come sounding good.

Anyone fond of quizzes? I don't mind organising a pub quiz if enough people are interested one evening? Could always do £1 a head and share the takings as prizes for the winners...or simply chocolate prizes?

Before going to the Town hall might I suggest you see what this gentleman: http://chesterguidedtours.com/ has available? He's been doing it for quite a while, and I know him.

Hi thanks for that, Tom Jones did one of the tours for me last time, and gave me his card but I could not find it, thanks for the link, I need to get at least. 24 people to get a reasonable price so will need some feed back first, the other idea was a bus tour a lot to do in a few weeks.

Hi carol, we'd be interested in a tour, either walking or by bus.

@carole would it be a good idea do you think to have a couple of lists, for cake donations/competition and the walking tour? That you could regularly update, knowing how threads can go off topic and amble along, you may have a lot of posts to wade through otherwise. Just a thought.

Hi Dawn @Mousy that is the way to go otherwise we will loose track, on the Saturday morning Funster get together we will have a CAKE Jacobs table with a section for the "Great Funster Easter Bake Off" and for those of us not quite so talented in the baking department can bring along any cakes for the general Cake Table, should be Fun 200 Funster enjoying Cake & Easter Bonnets, join in and enjoy.

I would like to thank you all for the nominations of "cake judge" (y)(y)

I will of course test them very carefully and be as honest as I can with the results so if you please just write your name on them somewhere that will be fine.
I would suggest that I come in first before anyone else gets their hands on them as this can obviously spoil the look which will represent some of my scoring. :sneaky:

A judge should never be influenced so no knocking on my door with bribes of less than a fiver.

Those doing either cheescake or walnut cake will of course have a better chance of winning.

I am also organising a weekend "drinkathon" at my van. It will go along the same lines as last year, last one out shut the door and no more than 15 in my van this year please it was crowded last time out.

stuart @Silkcut1105 will of course be doing his annual motorhome maneuvers course as per last year. Therefore I would suggest if you own a BBQ it is not left outside your van @Techno100
@drago35uk will be also doing his fire safety walk around, therefore if you do have an open fire that bellows out smoke please place a high chimney on it or expect it to be put out too.

On the Sunday morning @Jim I will be hosting a brand new event. This is called the how many people can fit in a members new RV. The idea is to test out Jim's new love & romance Palace for future events where marquees are banned and allowing him to see what anticipated numbers would be for future events.

sadly @ciderman is injured thanks to some terrible driver destroying him and his bike so we will not have our usual quantro dipped Jaffa cakes this year so if anyone would like to take his place please feel free and let your marshal know.

On the Monday there will be the annual motorhome strong man competition, this involves carrying two toilet cassettes one in each hand the 800 meters to the disposal point and back again,

On the Friday there will be the who's got the most unsociable and noisiest generator award, on boards are allowed this year.

So looking forward to seeing you all soon.... Don't forget the Jack Daniels. (y)

Some really good suggestions there Paul, should give some of our new members a idea of how it works.

We are thinking of hosting a Funsters Have Talent show on one of the evenings.
Can you tell a joke, recite a poem or sing a song? Do impressions, whistle or tap dance? Have a talented dog, cat or budgie?
Let me know via this thread or PM (if you're shy :) )

Janine that sounds really good fun
