I have no idea what it is or what it does chaser. What was it that you disliked about it.?
Until my trusty Garmin Zumo 660 recognises it... it's a no from me too.

Why bring me in to it? I am deliberately keeping out of it , to let you folks who like it to congratulate one another.

A-Ha! Too late your in it now chaser - you’ll now need to listen to everyone saying how amazing it is - all over again ?
 
Fire engines know the way because topography was a large part of probation. We had to know every street, every risk and every water main in our station area and were tested on it regularly.
I rode as an observer on ambulances quite a few times. The crew were useless at topography. I had to direct them to incidents many times. I don’t know how the ambulance or police would get to jobs without sat nav.
Maybe it’s because (you will only get this if you were in the blue light services) there is only one emergency service???

In days of yore, ambulance crews served in their local area in the same way that fire crews do today.
When crews moved from being employed by council authorities to HHS trusts, the areas they operated in became far bigger, necessitating the use of technology.
If we moved out of ’our area’, it would be common to be guided by a local,to that area crew, in a blue light call by radio.
 
The days of "ask a policeman" seem to have gone in more than one way :(
