what should i be looking for ?

hi i am suppose to be picking up new motorhome Tuesday i have never bought a new one before ,,is there anything i should be looking out for ,,or checking ,,?

Make sure you film the hand over.
Way too much to remember.
It should take a person that knows the vehicle 30-60 mins to give a full rundown.

I'd also have a date booked in for 2-4 weeks time to bring it back to deal with all the 'snagging' issues, of which there will be quite a few.

Plan you first overnight trip to a very local campsite for the weekend, so you can find out how stuff works.

And if it's not fitted already then book in a day at VanBitz in Taunton to get the

• Alarm
• Immobiliser
• Tracker
• Solar panel
• Battery Master
• GasLow
• WiFi

all fitted in a single day, the chances are you insurance company will insist on the first three to be done within 14 days of delivery.

thanks only one i need doing is the tracker,,that i have paid for ,just waiting for a date for them to fit it ,,

Have a look on youtube for a handover video, I found one for mine on Tyne Valley which answered quite a few questions. Supplied documentation leaves a lot to be desired these days. If on a Ford base the handbook for the cab and controls is best found online on Ford website but can be a challenge to find the right one first.

What are you getting? Pray tell! If its on the Ducato base remember that you only have 14 days to register ( and pay) for the extended warranty, 5 years I think your nearest would be Walton Summit Fiat

I think its about £850 but includes European breakdown/recovery and repairs for 5 years. You have to do it yourself, if you call in at Walton Summit on the way home then they can do it there and then but will need a copy of the V5 in your name when it comes through. Don't wait for the DVLA to send it as it could be over the 14 day period

got it already but have some much other things i want ,,aircon,,sat system mifi antenna tv antenna ,,the list is endless .
