MH
Elddis Autoquest 185
Hello all. First post from a newbie so please be gentle!

Just picked up our MH today (2017 Elddis Autoquest) and have just about worked out what everyone does etc…..however I’ve come across the valve shown below and have no idea what it’s for. It’s by the drivers door step up.

Anyone any idea?

Cheers

The two pipes are for nearside and offside. Normally you open both, inflate to desired pressure (you will need to experiment for your best setting). Then close both valves. To check each side pressure just open one valve. If you want to raise either side to level the van, you can raise one side and/or lower the other one.
A small air compressor will be sufficient, or indeed a foot or hand pump.

Edit….
Wow, air suspension…..didn’t even know it was fitted - don’t think the dealer did either!

Thanks everyone - much appreciated! ☺️👍

Ideally never drive with less than 1 bar (15 psi) to get some idea of what pressure to run at. Empty the van of all you would take on a trip water, gas etc measure the height from under the rear jacking points to the ground with no air pressure then load the van up as if you were going away for a long trip subject to your max payload then gently pump the bags up to the original height

A bit worrying is that.
What else might the dealer "not have known about", or more importantly what basics should he have known about and discussed on the handover, but perhaps has not explained.
Might be worth getting hold of a manual for the vehicle if you can, just to check. :giggle:

Air suspension assist, there’s not enough pressure in it if it’s what I think 😊
Sorry to jump in on this thread but you say the air is low. I presume the vehicle was stationary when the photo was taken (a reasonable assumption!), and the pressure is showing as 0.5 bar. When I had my VB air fitted on the rear axle last November, the VB installer told me to leave it at 0.5 bar when at rest. I'm not questioning your knowledge, just interested to know why it should be higher because like the original

Will that just be the pressure in one side as the taps are in different positions? Don’t have a system like that so just curious.

yes. In the photo the valve pointing down is showing the pressure for that side. You can then shut that valve & open the other for the pressure on the other side.

I normally run mine between 2.5 and 3 bar.

Mine is rarely empty, if left over winter only the 100lts (kgs) of water is of its normal weight.

I never let air pressure down to .5 bar and never read to do so.
I can’t see any reason to do so either.

I’m happy to be corrected if someone knows better 👍😊

Looks like air suspension to me
May be best checking with seller / dealer to be sure, and if it is, don't overinflate as you could split the bag

On ours, below 1 bar is in the red, and was told to never travel in the bottom red or the top red, so I agree with you

My system with onboard compressor button and 2 release valves on the dash has a sticker stating 7 bar max, when negotiating steep inclines I raise to 7 to give back end some clearance but normally run at about 3.5 bar - 4.250 ton 7.5m Cheyenne, hth

:hi2: w2f  quite by chance "The Slaws" ....youtubers.....have just had air suspension fitted to their van. Might be worthwhile you popping on to YouTube and having a view as it shows the complete installation process. The company fitting the system recommend a pressure of 2.5 bar to start with...then leaving it with the user to find an appropriate pressure depending on loads etc.

Ejector seat for your wife/partner.

Only activate it at over 70mph to get the maximum effect.

Like you, I also keep mine with a reasonable pressure in.
