What does it cost to fill your tank.

€117 but that was for 3/4 of a tank and I don’t care at all because we’re finally in France having a great time! We’ve even driven on Toll roads and stayed on campsites. We’re just throwing money away, these ACSI sites are such a rip off €16 overlooking the Seine with a heated pool next to a cycle path.

Never filled completely as LPG converted, but wouldn't change over from petrol recently, until the solenoid was replaced, so filled the tank half way and that cost £200.
LPG at 79p a litre gets us the same distance at half the price.

Sainsburys in Crayford £124.77 for 70.5 l - £1.77 per litre but it’s gone up since. A full tank last year was £85.

But they are not blatantly profiteering. The market sets price by supply and demand signals. Currently we have supply issues and shortages and demand is increasing. That will cause the price to rise. It is not profiteering.

Profiteering would be if the deliberately put the price up to make profits..
This would be quite true if you believe that there is an actual shortage of everything , everywhere. gas, diesel, petrol, heavy crude, gpl, gas natural, etc. there isn't . In many countries including both here & the Uk the suppliers & companies are scamming for increased profits.Nothing else.

Don't know, the pump stopped at £99

Topped mine up on the way to Holbeach at a Jet garage, £1.779 per litre, cheapest I had seen for a while. I had a quarter of a tank and filled up to the first gurgle o_O £84.99.
Had to lie down afterwards.
Supporting your local business wow, is the owner of the garage going to invite you to his retirement party any time soon? I would at least want a pint and a dinky pie 🤣🤣🤣🤣

What does it now cost to fill up

When I was up in Fort William two weeks ago I was on 1/4 of a tank so I filled it up. I ALWAYS put the higher quality diesel in and it came to a grand total of £147! (y) I don’t care though cos I’m on holiday.:giggle:

There is a shortage. During covid demand crashed. It is taking time for them to get supplies back up and running. In combination with this there is the Russia situation. A shortage does not always mean there is not enough being produce it can also mean that it is not in the right place, or that there are transport issues etc.etc.etc.

If you are saying these companies are scamming for increased profits. Report them to the competitions regulator as this implies collusions. If one supplier puts their price up, others will sell more and take market share. For what you are saying to be correct there must be collusion. Which is illegal.

To fill up from empty with petrol would cost £488.50 luckily it is lpg converted but still only returns about 9miles per gallon. Money is to spend and life to enjoy while you can.

The increase in fuel prices doesn't worry me that much tbh . . .

I only ever put £20 in !!

In the news today it now cost £100+ to fill a family car. What does it now cost to fill your motorhome with diesel. I still get a good deal filling up at Costco but some areas must be costing you a fortune.
£106 paid Monday morning before getting on ferry to Belfast, should have waited as prices in Ireland are cheaper seen £1.73 to £1.79 for diesel

They cannot sell any of these electric cars while the cost of petrol and diesel is cheaper! That's what this is all about. They equally cannot force us to change to heat pump technology while gas is cheaper!

F.Y.I. between 2011 and 2014, the price of crude oil was comparable to today ( actually it was often a fair bit higher ). petrol prices in the U.K. were relatively steady at between £1.30 and £1.40 per litre. so whatever the reasons trotted out for todays record high prices, the world market isnt one of them. rip off is what springs to my mind, but you can draw your own conclusion

Fill up now it will never go down in price😭😭😭

Probably be £2 per litre by Christmas

& they still won't be able to sell them with electricity having doubled in price & that was long before christmas.

I don't worry about the cost of fuel, I only ever put £30 in 🤣

(Trigger from only fools & horses sketch)

To put this in context,
when we bought our first motorhome on the 1st Feb 2014
we got to Bury caravan site on fumes cos we didn't see a garage on our route
from Rochdale (where we bought the van)

I drove like a nun to the nearest Tesco and put £100 of fuel in.

There, I don't feel so bad now. (y)

Alas Alac, tis unfortunate that this becomes a factor in Motor homing.

Was never going to be cheap on anything especially fuel, but before comment think about the cost of the equivalent days/weeks in other accommodation (don't forget to include the cost of getting there)

used to log purely out of interest if the MH did better mpg on rural or faster roads.
Decided what's the point!
Not happy with the price of fuel but is outside my sphere of influence so have to suck it up or give up BUT make sure whatever that those elected to look after us know for sure we are not happy.
