Daft question (if history is anything to go by), but what are the wing mirrors that are attached from above called, as opposed to the ones that stick out from the sides (specifically on a Ducato A Class) ?

No matter what I type in to google (inverted, hanging, upsidedown, suspended, coach-style) ahead of ducato wing mirror I just get variations on this type :

iu

which is not what I want. I want the ones that hang down coach stylie. I'm normally OK at searching, but not this time it seems.

I've damaged the casing on one (just-too-late protectors have been ordered!!) and was trying to research the cost of replacing the casing (and the glass for future reference).

They might be classed as "inverted" mirrors, might also be specific to Fleurette and not Fiat too ?

The main thing is they are not Ducato mirrors they were put on by the converter 👍

Ahh... I didn't consider that. Thanks, that might be the issue.

Hope I don't need to go to Fleurette. I don't think their pricing machine is capable of less that 3 digits before the decimal point...

On the coaches, they were known in the trade as 'Elephant Ears' mirrors.

Try Carlyle Bus & Coach mirror catalogue.
Is it just me that can't get on their web site? their mirror catalogue was certainly the place to start.

The Fleurette mirrors appear to be the same as fitted to the Pilote A Class.

If so, see this link.

Had the misfortune to require a complete assembly (arm and head) for a Le Voyageur about 2 years ago. Relieved me at the time of just shy of £1,000. Bless the UK dealer. Fortunately it was paid for by another firm but it makes you cough a little!! More expensive than the mirrors for MAN trucks I used to sell.

I've always known them as bunny ears . And expensive.
But as they are common these days the price has come down since their introduction in the nineties.
Now video cameras are the latest tech to see behind you
Some things change slowly 🐌

I had one hit by an unidentified lorry on a Rapido. Over a grand to replace. I dont think you can get mirror protectors for them. Try to adjust them so they are as close to the body as possible. Less likely to be hit.
