Petition: Legislate to upgrade all B class license holders to include the C1 category

We urge the Government to pass a law where in the same way people with a B class (car/van 3.5 tonne) driver’s license are automatically entitled to a B+E category (car/van and trailer) license, people with a B class license can be automatically entitled to a C1 (7.5 tonne) license.

I thought they were consulting on an increase to 4.25t?

I know the EU are legislating this, I'm sure there was some UK discussion.

But 7.5t vehicles are a big step up from a car.

The 4.25t is, as far as I understand, for EVs only due to increased weight from batteries.
But you can't believe every thing you read

It was always that way until we fell in line with the EU, I started to drive 7.5 tonne vehicles in my early 20's for work, (not delivery driving) no extra lessons, just given the keys and told to be careful and I was.
