Looks like you will be tracing the cablesHi guys
Just found this under the rear forward facing bench seat?
If I switch on or off it doesn’t draw current, but it does light up if I switch it off??

Is that in the down position, or the up position. We Brits tend to switch items off in the up position, whereas our European cousins tend to switch things on in the up position. If I switch on or off it doesn’t draw current, but it does light up if I switch it off??
When it’s in the 0 (opposed to 1) position it light upWhen you say............

Cheers,

So according the the image, it's in the I position, ie, off. When it’s in the 0 (opposed to 1) position it light up
I is on, 0 is offSo according the the image, it's in the I position, ie, off.
Looking at the thickness of the cables to and from the switch, I'd say they are capable of carrying a good few amps.
Cheers,
Jock.
So why is the light on the switch not illuminated John.I is on, 0 is off
but it does light up if I switch it off??
Agree same on our previous XLi Globetrotter.Do you have the Alde heat exchanger? If so, I’d lay bets on it being for the circulating pump for transferring heat from the Alde system to the engine for warming it up prior to starting the engine.

Hard to believe that was fitted by the converter looks to crude, I'd be ashamed if I did wiring that bad.Agree same on our previous XLi Globetrotter.
It's fitted under the central seating so not seen next to the heat exchanger bit of a pain to switch on you would have to remove the seat cushions to access it but to be honest I never did use it.Hard to believe that was fitted by the converter looks to crude, I'd be ashamed if I did wiring that bad.
Ours was mounted at floor level on the back of the passenger seat base (so readily accessible) but we too, in 14 years of ownership, never used it.It's fitted under the central seating so not seen next to the heat exchanger bit of a pain to switch on you would have to remove the seat cushions to access it but to be honest I never did use it.
$$ worth every penny in colder times to travel and use waste heat to warm the van and hot water with someone having arthritis and struggles in the cold.We did, however, regularly use the HX to warm the habitation area when driving to our destination which is where the HX really comes into its own.

Did you find out if it's mains or 12v?It’s leads to………. Absolutely nothing…
This connector is in the sub-floor lockers, no idea what it would have/could have been used for

The heat exchanger is the manual valve type, it’s in the same location thoughDo you have the Alde heat exchanger? If so, I’d lay bets on it being for the circulating pump for transferring heat from the Alde system to the engine for warming it up prior to starting the engine.

Nah… going to turn it off and ignore it, I’ve got an inverter down there if I need power..Did you find out if it's mains or 12v?
They’re all manual valve types. The heat exchanger is the manual valve type, it’s in the same location though
Looking at your last picture it looks like it was for a pump which has been removed hence that rather iffy spliced in red pipe, which looks to have a leak or a shadow on the picture
No leak, bone dry down there, the picture was taken from the opposite side of the van so shadowLooking at your last picture it looks like it was for a pump which has been removed hence that rather iffy spliced in red pipe, which looks to have a leak or a shadow on the picture
