Long time lurker, finally joined up!
Our AT PVC has an underslung Whale expanse DW8212UR gas/elec water heater. Gone wrong, Whale say its had water damage internally but won't warranty replace it (long story, may take to Small Claims)
Meanwhile I need a replacement, the SETWL8212A is £600 but Whale say I need to replace like for like (AK1919 - £854!) Seems the LIN protocol that controls it is different but I have the heat control (AK1963 I think) which us shown for the WL and is confusing me, and Whale. Anyone know if this is the right LIN controller for the WL heater?
