Joacamp 70Q
Hello from sunny Staffordshire!
We went to the motorhome show- just to look you understand, and to sort what we did and didn’t want…
A fixed bed was a must…
Good headroom
max 7m so that it fits on the drive
Oh and the budget…..we can only afford a second hand one…. But that might have gone out of the window…
We went, we saw, we eliminated plenty of…
We also realised as ex campers that we didn’t need all the bells and whistles..
We will only ever use sites if we stop more than 1 night anywhere.
We will do the uk for the next 2 years until we retire and then the world is our lobster as they say…
Anyway… we are now the proud owners of a Joacamp 70Q….an entry level motorhome which ticks all of our boxes….
Please be gentle with us, we are still learning…
My googling and YouTube skills are improving daily…
All hints and tips gratefully received
Rich

Welcome. We met a chap in Granada (In Spain, we weren't hankering after a tour of the Corrie set in Manchester) who had a Joacamp van, he was very impressed with it so far (owned 9 mths).

I don't much about that motorhome, but our last and present motorhome both French made Rapido and Pilote, can't really fault the build quality, and budget vehicles tend to do quite well in the rental market considering the amount of abuse they get, I'm sure you will be very happy with it, happy travels. 😎 Bob.

The so called entry level van from Pilote group, less technical stuff to go wrong and look good. Our Pilote has performed well in 6 years of ownership. Like all Van's expect minor snagging issues. Happy motorhoming.

Welcome to the club...Its a Pilote really so its a good truck .Just enjoy it and have fun. That is something you will do trust me!!

Welcome to the madhouse, you will have fun, entry level means less to go wrong, less to worry about .......... the Lobster awaits, go for it.....🎉

Entry level is just a term, like starter van used to be.
The engine will be the same as a 100k van, same with the heating fridge shower etc, ok the seats might be cloth not leather but they usually get covered anyway.
Hope you have fun in your travels and on here.

Thank you- they have only been in the uk for 3 years, part of the Pilote family .
I looked too. There's 2 24plate preregistration in Wales for sale I'm driving past this week. It could get dangerous

Snap!
We went to look at a left hand drive used Carthago .
Never been inside a Carthago.
Been looking at Rapido up until then.
Bingo, bought the Cathargo, fell in love at first sight, helped that it was a LHD!

I have still been looking…
Pilote do forces and emergency services discount on top of those prices too…
I was sceptical until they actually knocked £2000 pounds off it

Pilote owners have a fantastic Facebook group and you will find loads of help etc. As part of thr Pilote "family" you will be more than welcome.

I think we are a little nervous of wilding at the moment, but like the idea of Britstops.

Wilding is getting increasingly difficult in England at least. Scotland in many places is much easier and mainland Europe its much more relaxed but there are also loads of free or low cost Aires in France and similar in Germany, Italy and Spain as well. No need to be nervous about it but dont tie yourself to campsites, especially once you get over the water.

Looks a great van and an 800kg payload which is impressive on a 3500kg van. Very impressive. That will be important when you start doing longer trips. Enjoy it!! :D
