I like the look of that, especially the replaceable panniers lid inserts which are very vulnerable to being scrapped anyway.

I’ve always had BMW GSAs and the new 1300 does not do anything for me (rather the opposite) so I’ll probably look elsewhere.. maybe, just maybe 🎶🎶

Have a go on a Ducati V4S multi, one hour on that and you will put your GSA up for sale 😇😎😆

camping and caravanning since a kid. New to motorhomes
nice bike Bob. Hope you have lots of smiles miles on it.

be interested to hear how you find the DCT after a while. Have heard of many who at first loved it but then long term ended up going back to full manual version.

Thanks, I was put off by the servicing costs of the V4.

I’m actually considering going retro. Perhaps a late 70s BMW R90s or R100RS but having the brakes and suspension upgraded, and the mechanical parts totally refurbed for reliability.

I kinda got fed up with the new bike hamster wheel cycle every 2-3 years recently.

The only place that I can really get the best from my GSA is abroad or in Scotland, so not many times a year really. It would even be cheaper to hire a GSA for then.

I had a Africa Twin DCT for one summer, good bike but got boring very quickly , then bought my Ducati, I will never be bored again, if my streetfighter goes it will be replaced with a V4s multi👍

Service intervals are huge on the new Ducati’s and forget main stealers , there are a few independent Ducati specialists around , far better service and value and approved by Ducati, I go to Neil, ( nellly) at Cornerspeed, best in business, don’t disregard the new V2 multi, it’s fabulous, way cheaper then V4 and much better in fuel, I would say book a test-ride for both back to back, you will not regret it👍

I tend to find modern bikes boring most of the year around.

James May summed it up for me..
When choosing which was the most exciting road car ..
Clarkson said a Merc
Hammy said a Porsche
And May said a Fiat Panda.. because the others don’t even get out of 1st on modern roads and the Fiat squeals and slides at any roundabout. Much more fun and excitement.

My ducati streetfighter , is incredibly nimble at 178 kilo’s and 135 BHP , I dropped a tooth on the front sprocket so first gear is much shorter too, it is a really good laugh on any B road👍, mine is a first gen ( 2012) with about 8 grand worths of high tech goodies, very unique bike and immaculate , only goes out on a nice sunny Sunday 😎

My Gold wing was DCT and my recent X-ADV was a DCT. I wont be going back to a full manual. The BM is a bit manual, it has pro shift.

At my age i don't want nimble, fast and that stuff. Been there done that, comfort and boring does me fine. (but i do have a sport mode;) )
I am not a fast rider, neither a good one, so I just enjoy my self at snails pace , I only go out on the odd occasion, fair play to you, if I ever get to your age I will not be riding anymore, enjoy your new bike👍
