Can anyone give me details of weighbridges in Pembrokeshire - prefereably the North, but any would be good. Can't find anything on council website, and doing an internet search didn't really bring anything up. Should I contact trading standings to ask, since I know they have to check them out. Any info appreciated!

That's a strange address - Cardigan (Aberteifi) is in Cardiganshire (Ceredigion) not Pembrokeshire? Just taken a look on google, and it's 22 miles from me, but that's via lower town Fishguard and would defnitely not take the motorhome round that tight 90 degree bend there! We do have a local Clynderwen and Cardiganshire Farmers CO-OP not too far from me, - even though it's Pembrokeshire - so maybe I'll ask there for any others. Thanks for the suggestion and details. Guess we could visit when we go for a break up that way.

You can search by town on the Van weight engineering link above

It seems there are 6 in Pembrokeshire on their list, with nearest 2 being around 16 miles away in Haverfordwest, so not too bad. Will check them out. Many thanks.

The weighbridge I linked to is in North Pembrokeshire, a couple of miles away from the Ceredigion border. It's the only branch of Clynderwen and Cardiganshire Farmers in Pembrokeshire to have one, as it's actually a feed mill rather than a retail outlet. You don't have to go through Fishguard to get there; go accoss the Preselis from Haverfordwest, or via Crymych if you're further east..

I'm afraid that the list on Van Weight Engineering's website is hopefully out of date, at least for Pembrokeshire. Many Public Weighbridge operators have taken the decision to stop making them available to the public due to health and safety and other factors. For example the weighbridge at the cold stores at Puffin Produce is no longer open to the public. Dozens of forklifts zipping back and forwards across the yard loading trucks is not a great environment for joe public and his motorhome to be wandering around.

Also be aware that it seems not all weighbridges can weigh to give separate axle loads. I stopped off at the one listed in Oswestry on that list (on the way down to visit my daughter and family in Goodwick) fully laden including stuff I did not need for just a long weekend. I weighed in at just over 3,000 kg but they said they could not give me separate axle weights (And that was my real reason for being there!).

So it would be wise to ring ahead and check they can do that if that is info that you want. In my view it is info we all should have!

P.S. I really do not understand why they could not do that but that is what they said. Surely a reverse on to get the rear axle only registering followed by doing the opposite would give me the info I sought. Maybe my short wheelbase would have defeated that with the bridge mounting and weigh-points well inboard from the ends.

I live in N Pembs and use MD Recycling, Cardigan on the the A487 about half a mile past Tescos travelling towards Aberystwyth. Good for single and double axle weighing.
