Can I collect my Motorhome from storage to go to the weigh bridge, storage is 22mls from home,?

So after advising that it would not be classed as essential and copying and pasting government rules, you then admit to openly breaking/bending the rules yourself. Bit of a double standard here I think.
I have not broken any lockdown rules and suspect that most others haven't too. I desperately miss my children and grandchildren but firmly believe that the quickest way out of this is to follow the guidance. At the end of the day it is for people to make their own minds up.

Taking the van 4 miles from my village to the same town as I buy my groceries at to a garage and walking home (daily exercise) via the riverside path is one thing. Traveling 20-30 miles each way is quite another IMHO.

Places like garden centers are open. Essential? I really think not. Not really. But their car parks are unusually busy. I've been once, to stop my Grandad going who is clinically vulnerable, shielding and hasn't left the house since March 2020!

The biggest joke is the likes of Costa Coffee. In what world is frothy coffee an essential item? But it's allowed. As is buying a new widescreen TV from Currys.

Personally I think I've done a much better job at sticking to the rules than the vast majority of people. In fact I used to refuse service or bookings to at least one group of people in my pub a day who were quite obviously flouting regulations. That just goes to show the number of people who are actually following the rules.

This stevewagner is the VERY point I have been making over the last 9 months.
Funsters post on this forum, Do you think it will be ok for me to do .....whatever it may be... and think if they get approval from forum members then it is ok.
I despise those who think they are above others and rules... laws ... advice.. ...recommendations and can bend.. twist the said rules or advise to suit there own aims.
Like you I have only been to work (essential) Tescos and Pets At Home for pet food in the last 4 months.
No kids... or grandkids..
Yep.. hab checks.. tyres renewal. stowage checks...weigh bridges etc etc. In my mind NON ESSENTIAL.
Get real and let's sort this devastating thing once and for all.
STAY AT HOME 👿👿👿👿👿

The trouble with this conversation is it's all about the rules and not what is safe or not. Are you likely to have contact with people fetching the van and going to the weighbridge?

Seems it's OK to go to a heaving B&Q on Saturday but not to drive somewhere not seeing or meeting anyone.

I shall be driving 10 miles to go for a walk tomorrow. Not essential but there will be pretty much no one there . Alternatively I can mix with the crowds walking around the the local lake.

Whats more likely to cause transmission of the virus?
