Hello you clever lot. My wife and I have been invited to attend a wedding in Morroco next year and I wondered if it might be a good idea to drive the motorhome there instead of flying. Never been before (have been to France once last year) so a little apprehensive! Which route would you take, are there campsites or wild camping, access to gas (I have refillable gasafe bottles) weather etc. We are going in June 26
Any advice would be very gratefully received.
Thankyou, Pete.

It'll be very hot 🥵

Lots do drive to Morocco, there's a couple of threads running at present by funsters over there.
It'll be worth having a read of those.
The main thing to remember is a completely different culture, some like it some don't.
Rubbish strewn streets and animal welfare issues seem to be the main problems for many.

It’s very much how you feel about it and if you want to make a holiday of the trip there and back.

But on a cost and difficulty level flying and a hotel is most likely to be the cheapest and the easiest.

We went to Morocco for the first time last year, were a bit apprehensive to start with. There's nothing to worry about, there is a lot of information on the forum. There was a very good 'idiots guide' produced by one of the members. I printed it off and followed it. Lots of members have a font of knowledge regarding Morocco. It's certainly cheap and a lot warmer than here. We didn't feel unsafe, the locals were very friendly and helpful.

You may reach a wider audience if you can change your thread title to 'Morroco'.

We didn't feel unsafe,
Nor did wrong either of our visits. Not in the motorhome.
the locals were very friendly and helpful.
To the point of being too friendly on some occasions. 😲 I would still be happy to return, but June is going to be very hot. Both times we went it was April and away from the coast it was stinking hot to unbearable depending on time of day.

Morocco is a big place. The southern end is 700 miles south of the Med and you'll already have driven 1000 miles to get to your second ferry. In June, you could be looking at 50C temperatures. I'd find an excuse to skip the wedding if it was me.

Morocco is marmite, I like it but I would change my travel style if I come here again.
I like it but mainly for the warm weather we are experiencing, I definitely would not want to be here at that time of year in Spain let alone Morocco but it depends where you are heading as it’s cooler up in the mountains…

I would fly in and stay at a nice air conditioned hotel for the wedding and if you fancy a trip in the motorhome I’d do it near the winter months…☀️😎
